Log Homes of America

Log Homes of America, Inc. is a log home designer and manufacturer founded by Charlie Maney in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina.

Charlie started this company in 1989 after 17 years in the log home industry sales and construction. He knew there was a need for dealers and consumers to be on the same page. Limiting the availability of products and profiles forces the dealer to let his prospect “go down the street” while robbing the consumer of the best available product and building from a local source, a neighbor. Charlie developed a cooperative feel company so that dealers would have more options in the products that they sell while being able to take advantage of larger buying volume organization.

Charlie is now retired yet still continues to be involved with dealer and product development as well as sell a log package or two every year. We all know he won’t ever just quit the business in which he has become an “icon” of sorts. His 40+ years of experience in the log home industry has made him a popular “expert” for lectures and seminars nationwide.

Log Homes of America provides our independent representatives, homeowners, and contractors with log home materials that are superior both in appearance and structural quality.

Pella

A promise reflected in every window. In the small Dutch Community of Pella, Iowa in 1925, Pete and Lucille Kuyper invested in a newfangled invention – a window screen that rolled up and down like a shade. The couple went on to found a company based on the principles of traditional American values, integrity and the desire to enrich the homes and lives of others.

Today, Pella Corporation is still owned by the Kuyper family, and continues to be a leader in technology and product innovation. In fact, we’ve been awarded more than 150 product and design patents. And the team at Pella is as committed as ever to continuing the company’s proud heritage of building innovative windows and doors.

Timber Pro UV – A Company With Vision

How We Pioneered Eco-Friendly Wood Finish Technology. Twenty two years ago we had a vision: To bring a truly unique exterior wood finish to the market that was not only more durable than traditional wood stains but also one that was environmentally safe.

“We honestly enjoyed working with you and will recommend Timber Pro products to all of our future homeowners. Your line of finishes seems to be a step ahead of the others, keep up the good work.”
– Jim Hoffman, Homestead Log Homes

“For several years now, I have been applying Timber Pro products to the cedar siding, decks, and fences on the high end custom homes I build in Bend. This high desert climate is brutal, with high altitude UV exposure in summers, and snow, wind, and ice in the winter. I have never found a product that holds up as well in the 21 years I have been building. The fact that it is also environmentally safe just adds to the value of my homes now that so many of my clients are requesting the homes to be built sustainably.”
– Dennis Szigeti, Leader Builders

Eagle Panel Systems

Eagle Panel Systems offers the log home industry a method to quickly finish their log shell with roof panels applied directly to the rafters or purlins, combining an interior finish of Eastern White Pine Tongue & Groove, INTEGROOVE® expanded polystyrene insulation, structural members (if required) and exterior sheathing, all in one step. With Eagle Panels coming in lengths up to 24′ long and in thicknesses of up to 12″ with the option of two rafters laminated inside the panels, Eagle Panel Systems SIPs can cover just about any span and loading conditions, even in the most extreme climates.

Another bonus with this system is that the eve and gable overhangs come pre-finished with the pine tongue and groove, saving an extra step and eliminating some of the high work usually associated with scaffolding or ladders. The Eastern White Pine panels are delivered on an Eagle Panel Systems truck directly to the job site as soon as the log shell is up. And with the crane already in place from the log erection, the roof panels can then be immediately applied to the log home and your roof could be on in a matter of days instead of weeks that is typical for a site built roof.

Your local builder can easily install the Eagle Panel Systems roof assembly. The labor savings alone make this method cost competitive and the foam core insulation values (up to R-49) provide the means to super-insulate the roof and slow the heat loss to a trickle compared to a fiberglass insulated cathedral roof.

PPG PROLUXE WOOD STAINS

Since it was introduced, Energy Seal has become one of the most popular members of our sealants. Energy Seal was created specifically to seal milled or scribed log homes, log siding homes and around joinery such as butt-joints, trim and corners. One application makes any log wall completely weather-tight.

Energy Seal has excellent adhesion and stretch. It is long-lasting, UV-stable and chemical-resistant.

Unlike commonly used sealants which look shiny and artificial, Energy Seal is textured to match the visual characteristics of wood. It easily tools to a smooth, professional finish, virtually disappearing into the walls after it’s applied. It softens the lines on log walls and accepts the color of wood finishes. In fact, Energy Seal so closely matches your walls, most people can’t tell the seams are sealed.

Application can be done by the homeowner or a professional contractor. We stock a full line of application accessories or can refer a professional applicator in your area.

Made in U.S.A.
